Managed IT & Support
Server management
Whether your servers sit in a comms room, in Azure or both, someone has to own patching, capacity, backup verification and the date they get replaced.
What we take on
- Patching on a schedule, tested and applied inside your maintenance window rather than in the middle of trading
- Capacity and performance monitoring, so disk, memory and load problems are caught before they become an outage
- Backup verification by restore, not by reading a green status page
- Security baseline — admin access reviewed, local accounts audited, endpoint detection deployed
- A lifecycle date for every server, carried into the five-year capital plan
- Documentation that survives a staff change, including what each server actually does
The one thing that catches everyone
Anything that needs a regular reboot to keep working is already failing. It is the most reliable warning sign we see, and it is almost always treated as a quirk rather than a fault — right up until the reboot stops fixing it, usually at the worst possible moment.
We document these during the audit and put a date against each one, so replacement becomes a budget line in a year you have seen rather than an emergency quote.
On-premises, cloud, or both
We do not have a position on where your servers should live in the abstract. Some workloads belong in Azure; some belong on a box in the building because the internet connection is the weak link and a clinical or gaming system cannot wait for it. The right answer depends on your connectivity, your recovery requirements and your licensing, and it is one of the questions the audit is designed to answer.
Common questions
Do we have to move everything to the cloud?
No. We will tell you where it makes sense and where it does not. A single-site practice on a marginal connection is often better served by a local server with cloud backup than by a full migration.
