Custom hardware and software
We specify and procure hardware on a lifecycle plan rather than in an emergency, and we have developers on staff for the cases where nothing you can buy actually fits.
Hardware, with a date attached
Every device we deploy carries a replacement year, and that year goes into the five-year capital plan visible in NEVO Pulse. The point is to make replacement a budget line you have seen rather than a quote that arrives in the middle of a trading period.
- Specified for the environment — a tablet for a care worker, a terminal behind a bar and a clinician's workstation are three different problems
- Procured transparently, with the quote visible and no undisclosed margin
- Deployed configured, joined, encrypted, monitored and patched from day one
- Tracked in the asset register, including warranty and end-of-support dates
- Disposed of securely, with data destruction evidenced — which matters when the device held health or member information
Custom software, and why we mention it at all
Most providers can only pass on a vendor's product, which means waiting for that vendor to ship something. We have developers on staff and have written integrations against club gaming, POS and loyalty platforms for twenty years.
The plainest evidence is NEVO Pulse — our own platform, running in every NEVO client's environment. We built it because no vendor tool reported on what our service actually commits to.
Where a gap in your operation can be closed with a small, well-scoped piece of software, we can build it. See custom integrations and application development.
When we will tell you not to build
Custom software is a long-term commitment: it has to be maintained, documented and handed over. If an off-the-shelf product covers eighty per cent of the requirement, adopting it and changing the process is almost always cheaper over five years than building the last twenty per cent. We will say so.
Common questions
Do you mark up hardware?
Quotes are transparent and hardware is a pass-through cost, excluded from the guarantee. You approve any spend before it happens.
